People nowadays love to talk about what a “litigious” society we live in… It doesn’t matter what industry or what walk of life you are in – there is somebody suing somebody.
And while there is certainly a degree of truth to this, lawsuits are nothing new, which I’m sure you all know. But what you might not know is back in 1985, when the now Tennessee Titans were still the Houston Oilers, they attempted to launch a lawsuit against the NFL and its commissioner, Pete Rozelle.
The lawsuit was a massive headline and within days it quickly became national news – and with the NFL Draft rapidly approaching, the narrative created quite a frenzy. It even created the possibility that the draft would be delayed!
