Ruptly is live outside Ebenezer Baptist Church on Monday, June 22, as friends, family and supporters arrive for the funeral of Rayshard Brooks. 27-year-old Rayshard Brooks was shot twice in the back by a white Atlanta police officer outside a fast-food restaurant on Friday, June 12. His death occurred about 2 weeks after another black man, George Floyd, died as a result of police actions in Minneapolis. Both incidents sparked a wave of anti-racism and anti-police brutality protests in the US and abroad.
The officer accused of killing Brooks has been detained and faces multiple charges.
