Monumental: African Empires - Should You Back It?

Monumental African Empires is the newest expansion to Monumental, Funforge's beautiful and perhaps overproduced 4X Deckbuilder. Overall Monumental has received pretty decent reviews, yet also some criticism most particularly of the downtime and game length. It's beautiful, it's tempting, it has some of the best minis I've seen in board games...and yet it's $300 for a deckbuilder. Which leads to the question...should you back it?
