One of the worst brands out there to get a credit card from is CreditOne. They provide low cash back cards for an annual fee. The platinum visa for rebuilding credit offers 1% cash back for a 0-99 annual fee. That’s awful. You could get the apple card for no annual fee, but again you do need a higher credit score to get the Apple card.
If you are trying to rebuild your credit then check out my other video on that because I mention secured cards which are far better than these cards.
The American Express card through them is again 1% cash back and a $39 annual. An annual fee for 1% cash back is awful and it seems you need excellent credit for this card. What I don’t get is how they have a card that gives you 2% cash back for no annual fee and then another card with 1% cash back for a $39 annual fee. They don’t even mention any actual benefits.
I just don’t see how you would want this card with an annual fee. Absolutely no sense and they have this for a lot of their products. Generally, you will get mail from them saying you are preapproved for this card, which is how they get a lot of people.
Moving onto some other cards that are terrible. Mastercard offers these luxury cards, but they don’t really earn you that many points. It’s only 1 point per dollar spent on the black card from them. However, it is 2% back in redemption for airfare so technically it’s like 2% back on your purchases. Either way you get things that a card like the Chase sapphire reserve gives you, like lounge access and an annual airline credit. Still not overall worth it to knock down that $495 annual fee. Chase has a $550 and gives you a $300 annual travel credit compared to the Mastercard’s $100 one.
I think it’s funny how they have card weight as a selling point for this card. The gold card with a whopping $995 annual fee is 2% back all around, 1 point for every dollar spent and a $200 annual travel credit. Still less than Chase or Citi for that matter. It is made from 24k gold though.
You could also use lion credit card and get a 24K gold card for cheaper than the annual fee. Plus, you could turn your Chase Freedom into a gold card if you really wanted to.
Wait, but there’s more. The titanium card with the lowest annual fee of $195 gives you 2% redemption towards airfare with no travel credit. Again, very much not worth it when the Citi double cash gives you 2% cash back on everything for a 0 annual fee. The luxury collection from Mastercard is just a way for you to feel like you are luxury with a metal card. Imagine plopping down a 24K gold card with your friends at dinner.
