VENESECTION OF SAPHENOUS VEIN

The video shows step by step , whole procedure of saphenoous vein cut down. The procedure is performed under general anesthesia. It is one of the invasive procedures and is used to obtain intravenous acces in patients in whom I/V cannulation is difficult or not possibel ,, like in case of burns etc. My patient is known chronic kidney patient. her full body is edematous.
Under local anesthesia. skin over the medial malleolus of foot is cut in transverse manner, saphenous vein is found and a small catheter or N/G tube is passed in its lumen.
